Part-Time Online Career Prep Program
Students in grades 9–12 can take advantage of online career courses by enrolling part-time in Idaho Technical Career Academy and choosing career-focused electives through our career and college prep program.
Robust Career Prep Opportunities
Our career-focused courses can help ITCA students explore their options, find their passions, and start working toward the career of their dreams while they’re still in high school.
Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
The Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources career course includes a pathway in Agricultural Communications & Leadership.
This pathway prepares students with technical agricultural knowledge, communication skills, and leadership abilities as well as the analytical and problem-solving skills needed to generate solutions to global issues in agriculture and rural communities today.
Students choose from specialized agricultural communications and leadership classes and select courses from subject areas in animal science and plant & soil.
Business
The Business career course includes pathways in Business Management and Digital Communications.
The Business Management pathway prepares students to formulate policies and direct the operations of a business, corporation, nonprofit, or other organization.
The Digital Communications pathway prepares students to successfully design and produce interactive multimedia productions and services, including developing digitally generated or computer-enhanced media used in business, training, entertainment, communications, and marketing.
Health Science
The Health Science career course includes pathways to train as a Medical Assistant or a Pharmacy Technician.
The Medical Assistant pathway helps students develop the knowledge base, skills, and behaviors that entry-level medical assistants need to succeed. Students are introduced to anatomy and physiology, diagnostic tests, diseases and disorders, treatments, and nutrition.
The Pharmacy Technician pathway prepares students to assist licensed pharmacists in providing health care and medications to patients in medical settings such as hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and labs.
How the Part-Time Pathway Program Works
The Part-Time Pathway Program is available to all Idaho students in grades 9-12, except for second semester seniors.
Courseload
ITCA’s Part-Time Pathway Program provides a great opportunity for students to start exploring career-focused electives while still working toward their high school diploma. Students should maintain their academic courseload at their primary educational institution as they start taking these elective courses with ITCA.
Schedule Flexibility
Students enrolled in the Part-Time Pathway Program are able to design their schedules as needed to support their success. Some students choose to work more asynchronously, taking the courses on their own time, while others take online courses in the evening after a regularly scheduled day at a brick-and-mortar school.
