As Principal, Caleb Millay Brings Student-First Leadership to ITCA

Stories & Spotlights
Idaho Technical Career Academy principal Caleb Millay

Idaho Technical Career Academy’s (ITCA) new principal, Caleb Millay, is bringing a student-first mindset to his new role, helping every ITCA learner graduate ready for college, career, and life.

“I’m honored to join Idaho Technical Career Academy and build on its mission of preparing students for success in both college and career,” Millay said. “ITCA gives students across Idaho access to a rigorous, career-focused education that connects academic learning with real-world skills. I look forward to working with our teachers, families, and industry partners to help students reach their full potential and meet the workforce needs of our state.”

A Foundation in Education

Caleb grew up in Vancouver, Washington, and moved to Idaho to attend Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary education. He began his career in Kuna, spending six years in the classroom while coaching basketball and running the driver’s education program.

After completing his master’s degree in educational leadership at Boise State University, Caleb returned to Washington, where he served as a district administrator, middle school assistant principal, and athletic director in the Hockinson School District. Over the past four years, he has earned a reputation for his collaborative leadership, emphasis on academic growth, and passion for helping schools thrive.

Vision for ITCA

At ITCA, success means more than a diploma. It means helping students gain the technical knowledge, certifications, and skills they need to succeed in Idaho’s workforce. That’s a mission Caleb embraces wholeheartedly.

“Essential to any successful society is an educated and trained workforce,” ITCA Head of School Monti Pittman said. “Caleb brings a strong background in both instruction and administration, and he’s deeply committed to student growth. His leadership will strengthen our programs and ensure every ITCA student is supported on their path to graduation and beyond.”

Caleb’s approach aligns perfectly with ITCA’s vision — using technology to connect students across the state to a 21st-century learning community focused on academic and technical excellence. With programs in high-demand fields such as IT, business, and healthcare, ITCA gives students the foundation for both postsecondary education and meaningful careers.

“I believe education should prepare students not just for tests, but for life,” Caleb said. “ITCA does that by combining academic rigor with real-world application. Our students graduate ready to contribute to Idaho’s communities and industries.”

Beyond the Classroom

Outside of school, Caleb enjoys spending time with his wife and their two young sons. The family lives in Nampa.

As principal, Caleb continues ITCA’s tradition of excellence and builds even stronger connections among students, families, and teachers. His goal: to make sure every ITCA student has the tools, support, and confidence to turn their education into opportunity.

ITCA is proud to welcome Principal Caleb Millay to its leadership team. With his passion for student success and vision for the future of education, ITCA is ready to continue empowering Idaho students to learn, grow, and thrive wherever they are.
